Just look at those two behind her. They can barely keep themselves from passing out, right there, on the spot. Lucky for them, herpes isn't an airborne virus. I'm sure they've recovered.

Conan Buys Out West

Conan O'Brien has spent $10.5 million US on a luxury Los Angeles house. The Late Late Show host will move to L.A. from New York next year (09) to take over from retiring Tonight Show host Jay Leno - and he's already laying down roots in California. The six bedroom Brentwood house boasts a screening room, library, wine cellar, outdoor kitchen, pool and spa. The 44-year-old will be relocating with his wife Liza, daughter Neve and son Beckett.

Possible Engagement?

Gatecrasher is reporting that we can expect an announcement from uber-hot couple, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson in the near future. The couple have been an item for almost a year. Reynolds ended his engagement to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette last February, and by April he was spotted on a date with Johansson at the Odeon in Tribeca, looking very much in love. The pair have been living together since the end of the summer.

Liv Lovin' Maui

Liv Tyler enjoyed the sand and surf of Maui this week with a friend. Who doesn't love Liv? She's a girls' girl and those are hard to find. I'll be in Maui in March and let me tell you, there may never again be a bikini in my life. We'll have to see.

Heigl's Still Puffin'

Katherine Heigl was photographed this week at JFK when a fan gave her a box of Nicoderm patches, but was hacking a butt on the streets on Manhattan just last night. It's a hard habit to break. She puffs back over a pack a day, but is said to want to quit. She should switch to a more 'herbal' variety..... at least while she tries to ween herself.

After giving birth to her daughter, Valentina, in September, Salma Hayak is already back in fine form. Here she is in Hollywood on Thursday in a perfect dress, (I'm sure it's Gucci), for hiding that extra tummy weight. Gorge!

A New Pattern Is Developing In 2008....

and I don't like it one bit. Overdressing for Late Night. It was Lucy Liu last week, and this week it's Katherine Heigl, over-doing it for Letterman. It looks to me like she had a dress and jewels picked out for the Globes, and when they were cancelled, decided to wear it all to Letterman instead. Not as over-the-top as Lucy, but still a little too made up.

It's about time the world found a replacement for Meg Ryan. Thank you Katherine.

DON'T EX WITH TEXAS

Dear Dallas and Surrounding Areas,

This isn't a sports blog, and it isn't a publicity stunt. (but have at me if it feels right.)

This is about doing what I think is right as a person, in this case speaking my mind.

I have never known anyone to have more pride in their home state and their upbringing in it than Jessica Simpson has in Texas. I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now.

All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know. It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)

I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this. And if I'm out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday's worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul.

I'm a big user of Kinerase, Philosophy, Fresh, Pureology, Bliss.....I could go on and on..... all have lots of bad bad stuff. Kinerase, surprisingly, isn't rated too bad, and I love it so much, I'll stick with it. Even my Pureology shampoo and conditioner, which are sulphate free, vegan and the rest of it, rated poorly. No sulphates and still it can cause me cancer?! Ack! I'm also a mayjah fan of Bare Escentuals. LOVE Bare Escentuals. It's supposed to be pure, clean, mineral makeup right? Not. Full of toxins.... What's a product queen to do? Stella McCartney's new organic line, here I come........
