Fergie Fattening Up

Fergie isn't pregnant. She's been fattening up for a movie role.

"I've actually gained 10 pounds!" she told reporters Monday. "No, really - for the film, Nine. Actually, 13 to be exact."

"I ate everything!" she continued. "Fish and chips. Everything fried - things I don't normally eat."

It must suck to eat stuff that actually tastes good, for a short while, only to go back to starving yourself again. As soon as we stop seeing Fergie smile, we'll know her dieting has begun. Probably tomorrow. Though being engaged to, and sleeping with, Josh Duhamel, would sure put a smile on my face.

This One and Only Time, I'm Liking The Donald

Donald Trump has been housing Jennifer Hudson and some of her relatives at the Trump International Hotel & Tower free of charge.

"She's a great girl. And we're protecting them well," Trump told PEOPLE at a benefit honoring Australia director Baz Luhrman at the Museum of Modern Art Monday night. "They are very safe."

Hudson has been seeking refuge at the Trump holding since her mother, brother and nephew were murdered in Chicago on Oct. 24.

It's nice to hear of Donald helping someone other than himself for a change.

I can't believe it took a photo to snap her out of it. Well ok, maybe I can. Sometimes it can take a photo to knock that phony, yet often content, sense of self we women can sometimes get. Damn cameras are mean.

VOTE NO To Prop 8 - I Would If I Could

California voters will vote on Proposition 8 on November 4, which is a measure to eliminate marriage rights from same-sex couples. How Sad It Is

Just a day before the election, Sen. Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, said Monday.

She was 86.

"She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility," their statement said.

"She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure."

Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."

Dunham passed away peacefully at her home shortly before midnight Sunday night (5 a.m. ET)

"She's the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life," he said in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. "She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she's watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well."

Courtney Cox Officially A Cougar

Moving on from DIRT.

Courtney Cox is returning to the land of comedy with Cougar Town, an ABC pilot in which she stars as a hot 40-year-old mother who’s newly single. Cox will exec produce the single-camera comedy with Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, who also is cowriting the pilot. Cougar Town is expected to be a candidate for the 2009-2010 schedule. It’s a reteaming of sorts for Cox and Lawrence: Cox shot a three-episode guest arc on Scrubs that is slated to air later this season.
