RIP Heath Ledger

I can't believe it. Can you?

Heath Ledger was found dead
in his Manhattan apartment this afternoon at the age of 28.

At 3:31 p.m., according to the police, a masseuse arrived the fourth-floor apartment of the building, at 421 Broome Street, between Crosby and Lafayette Streets in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of the bedroom Mr. Ledger was in. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with sleeping pills — both prescription medication and nonprescription — on a night table. They moved his body to the floor and attempted to revive him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities.

Sad sad sad. Just recently separated from actress, Michelle Williams. They have a daughter, Matilda, 2.

Updates: Heath was found with both prescription sleeping pills and over-the-counter ones. Accidental overdose is the speculated cause of death.

Update #2: Heath had pneumonia when he died.

as an Aussie, I must say the country is pretty shocked that such a talented guy has left us. Death is especially tragic for the young and very talented such as Heath. His attitude towards the paparazzi was also typically 'no bullshit' Australian and we will miss his winning ways.

It's unbelievable. He's one of the last actors you would expect something like this to happen to.

This is sad news.
Heath was a great talent, and his best was yet to come.
We will miss him, and we will never forget him.

Monumentally sad news. His work in Brokeback was amazing...beautiful.

Pray for his daughter...she's going to need it.

Rest in peace.

I wish there was a way to turn back the clock Heath…and stop this from happening… One of the most talented and promising actors… so many images left unseen, so many emotions left to portray. And on top of it all, you seemed to be a genuine, nice and real person…
Wish I could turn back the clock and stop this from being true… You won my heart…talent is the most splendorous thing… I wish I could still watch you when we were both in our 60’s. Wish there was a way… My heart sunk when I first heard you were gone… And it sinks everytime I think of you… I just shake my head in sadness and disbelief...
I can´t take your face out of my mind Heath, and Gustavo Santaolalla’s “The Wings” from Brokeback’s soundtrack is playing in my head and won’t stop…Probably because it’s so sad, and so beautiful, and it reminds me of you…
Rest in peace, Heath.
This is just me, saying goodbye…
You’ll forever be up there with the greats to me Heath…
Love always,
Daniela.
