Thank Baby Jesus - Chelsea Handler Signs New Two Year Deal With E!

I had been totally getting the "this is my last season vibe", but NO. Chelsea Handler has signed a new two year deal with E! through 2014, continuing with Chelsea Lately.  Also included is a production deal with her Borderline Amazing Productions.

"Chelsea is an extraordinary talent whose smart, clever, no-holds-barred point of view has clearly been embraced by viewers," said E! president Suzanne Kolb.
Added Handler, "It's a great time for women in comedy, and it's a great time to have real breasts."
Chelsea Lately has helped launch the career of fellow comedienne, Whitney Cummings.
The news may come as a surprise to those who have paid close attention to Handler's remarks in recent months.  In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter's June cover story, Handler said, "I can't keep doing the same thing; my brain is bleeding. I want to do something that's more mindful and isn't celebrity-centered. I'm not looking to totally bail on E! They've done a lot for me, and I like it here. If you take away the Kardashians."

Snooki : Everyone Can Suck It

Time for a little GQ Q&A :

"Reality TV star" and "Best-selling author" rarely intersect. But then, Jersey Shore'sSnooki is no ordinary reality TV star. Or author. Over a plate of baked chicken and salad—she's on a diet—Snooki let’s GQ.com in on the woman behind the tan, and discusses politics, what she would do differently if producing Jersey Shore, saving money, her guilty pleasure, and more.

GQ: Out of the GOP candidates, those that were rumored, dropped out or are still in it, who would you vote for?
Snooki:
Donald Trump, I would vote for him. Trump would make this country better I feel. He gets shit done.

GQ: If you were producing Jersey Shore, what would you do differently?
Snooki:
I wouldn't show as much drinking and partying. I would show more of us chilling out and having a good time—which they don't show. We don't even drink those nights, but we laugh all night. They don't show anything but us drinking and hooking up.

GQ: So what do you spend your money on?
Snooki:
I save it. Jersey Shore is going to end soon. I'm not going to spend money like Mike [The Situation]. He's already broke!

GQ: What's a guilty pleasure of yours?
Snooki:
The show, Mob Wives... They're crazier than we are and they're in the mob. I think they're nut jobs.

GQ: You have a camera on you nearly all the time these days. Is there anything we don't know about you?
Snooki:
I don't think so. I just know that I'm going to be 98 pounds again and everyone can suck it.

Drew Barrymore Covers Conde Nast Traveler

...on newsstands nationwide August 23, 2011

Condé Nast Traveler’s first ever Visionaries issue features celebrities, activists, companies and more who are changing (and challenging) the world. Drew Barrymore graces the cover for the  inspiring work she has done and continues to do in Kenya. Through the World  Food Programme, she has built a brand-new primary school, provided food for children, and dug wells that are life altering for the villagers.

“I want to explore and become more socially aware,” says actress, World Food Programme Ambassador, and September cover star Drew Barrymore. She travels with writer Susan Hack to rural communities in Kenya where, she, through the World Food Programme, has given a brand new primary school, food for children, and wells that are “life-altering” for the villagers. “Fetching water was our burden as women, even when we were heavily pregnant,” Mungelina Lekakaile, a 54-year-old grandmother tells Barrymore. “I am so happy because now we don’t have to think about water. We and our children can focus on other things.” “Travelers should look at the harsh realities of a place but balance that with seeking its beauty. It’s important to acknowledge the reality of how the world functions but also to keep a sense of hope,” says Barrymore.

Drew Barrymore on feelings after reading an article about impoverished Kenyan children who walked miles to reach schools that represented their only route out of poverty (which then caused her to reach out to the UN and the World Food Programme):

“I was really moved. I never went to school myself. I was doing a job and didn’t have a kids life. I wanted to learn more about why these kids were so passionate, walking so far and overfilling their classrooms.”

...on feeling awkward about her initial meetings with communities she hoped to help:

“I didn’t want to be on a soapbox, this Westerner living in a bubble, so on the first trip I was a little nervous.  I asked questions and listened a lot...”

...on visiting these kids in Kenya and learning about what they want to be when they grow up:

“It’s amazing to me that the kids mention professions which involve helping others, that they are naturally philanthropic. People can feel unconfident about sending money into the void of a charity. But when you find something like this that speaks to your heart, it gives you the courage to look beyond your own problems and take the first small steps to try as an individual to make an impact.”

RIP Amy Winehouse

Ya sure. It's not a HUGE surprise, but it is a HUGE HUGE loss. Amy Winehouse had musical talent oozing out of her pores. Such a tragedy that once again, substance abuse takes another talented life.

So sad that when saving the photo above and labeling it "Amy Winehouse RIP", it feels like I'd already done it before.  Kind of eery.

Rest In Peace Amy Winehouse.

Kevin Bacon Talks Madoff, Marriage and Footloose

Kevin Bacon has nothing to hide, though times haven't always been Footloose and fancy free. Kevin talks to Details in the June/July issue, about his role in the latest X-Men movie, his marriage and a whole lot more. On stands now.

DETAILS: You once said that it's easy to get laid when you're famous. Is it harder to stay married to the same woman—Kyra Sedgwick—for more than two decades?
Kevin Bacon: It's hard to explain, other than to say I like being married to her. I like spending time with her. We have found the right person to be with. I do think that, as a guy, if you never get a chance to experience more than one partner, that's going to be a really tough road. Luckily, I did.

DETAILS: The two of you lost a lot of money in the Madoff scandal. What was that experience like?
Kevin Bacon: I'm not going to say it didn't have its emotional downsides. But we're both young, and we both had the ability to work and roll up our sleeves and start putting the pieces back together. The truth is that we went through it together.
DETAILS: Did it have any impact on your professional decisions?
Kevin Bacon: Yeah, I think so. While I try to have integrity about the work that I do and the choices I make, I've also said from a very young age that I need to work. I don't think I suffer from the disease of specialness.

Entourage Wants Charlie Sheen

The hit HBO series, Entourage, currently filming it's final season are reaching out to metal mouth, Charlie Sheen. Creator, Doug Ellin, has been trying to sign him for an episode or even possibly a longer story arc.

"I called his manager and was told maybe I'd get him," Ellin told TV Guide in their exclusive look at the upcoming season. "But I'm still waiting for Charlie to call me back. I'd come up with something good."

No fear, if Charlie doesn't step up, the shows final season has lots of major pro athlete cameos and of course, the much anticipated Johnny Drama cartoon.  Other surprises I'm sure.

Men With Long Hair: Love It Or Hate It?

A lot has been said about Tom Brady's hair.  Too long, most say.  NO WAY, says his wife, Gisele Bundchen.

“That’s his choice,” Bündchen said. “He does what he wants. I love him no matter what — short, bald, fat. It’s all good. It’s all good.”

Personally, I hate it.  Especially at Monday nights Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.  Too greasy.  Too long.  Too done.  I'm over it.  If I were his wife, I'd cut that in his sleep.

What do YOU think?  LOVE it or HATE it?
