I call it Proposition Hate.
Bad news, it looks like it passed. It's not official yet, but almost. Damnit.
such a shame...my friend just took her honeymoon with her partner to get officially married in CA and I just feel horrible that they cannot have the same rights as all of her striaght friends because she fell in love with a women...makes me so sad.
What a drag. And to think, I thought I could live in CA. Damn you and your good weather.
I can't believe there are that many stunted people still out there.
It's bizarre. I mean, we voted overwhelmingly for Barack Obama, I'm scratching my head at the outcome of this.
They really had a lot of scare tactic ads on TV, directed at parents, scaring them into thinking that gay marriage was going to be taught in schools. Of course, gay marriage wasn't being taught in schools, but I guess the facts didn't matter to those who are homophobic.
It's disappointing.
The sad reality is that the proposition never should have even made it on the ballot. Legally, it could have been denied because it was placed there by people who don't even live in the state. This is the third proposition that we've had to deal with of this nature and it is unbelievable that there are so many people of races, religions, etc., who don't get that this proposition was about nothing but blatant discrimination. Hopefully the courts will be able to overturn this.
