I remember commenting on Jennifer Aniston and her sudden obsession with having her hand perma-attached to a Smart Water bottle a few months ago. Now the true reason why all the product placement has come to light. Jennifer is not only the posterchild/spokesperson for the company, she will be designing a signature SmartWater bottle to be released in July.
On top of that, she has invested her own money in the company, owned by Glaceau, the same company that owns Vitamin Water, which just earned rapper 50 Cent 400 million, for his 10% share, when it sold to Coca Cola last week for 4.1 billion.

The partnership marks the actress' first U.S. endorsement, although she has lent her famous face overseas to brands like Heineken, L'Oreal and Damiani jewelry.
“We were thrilled that Jennifer discovered smartwater and realized what a difference it makes to her healthy lifestyle,” said Rohan Oza, smartwater’s senior vice president of marketing. “To us, Jennifer truly embodies what smartwater is all about as she combines substance and style like nobody else.”
According to a statement released by the company, “Jennifer became an immediate fan. She believes so much in smartwater that she recently became an investor in the company and is even getting actively involved in the business.”

Wow, I didn't know Glaceau was working with Jennifer Aniston- I wonder whether they'll have the same success with Smart Water as they've had with Vitamin Water. I can't say I'm a fan myself- with all the sugar and calories in one Vitamin Water, I might as well drink a soda!
