Jamie Lee Curtis has written an essay for The Huffington Post entitled, "Mom, It's Not Right!" ,which refers to Hilton's outburst as she was sent back to jail last week. ((Barbara Walters tried to explain on The View today that Paris was referring to the fact that the guards wouldn't let her hug her mommy, as they had after the first sentencing. "Mom. Mom. Mom! It's not right!". Nice try Barbara. You can shut up now.))
"It was a painful episode to watch," Curtis writes. "A young woman, begging her mother, the person who should have taught her right from wrong, to help her, to teach her the rules of life. It was a little too late. And so she wept as the Universe was bringing the teaching and settling the score."
Curtis says today's celebs are lacking guidance: "The sad paths of the three most popular young women" – Hilton and, presumably, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears – "have ended in prison, rehab and mental illness. I hope their mothers are worried sick and wondering, 'What could I have done differently?' And our culture should be asking the same question too."
"Can we take the wrenching sight of Paris asking her mother, 'why?' and ask it of ourselves? ... Wake up, Mothers, and smell the denial."

You go, Jamie! Yesssss!
This (Paris, Lindsay, etc.) is what happens when mom's try to be their daughter's friends vs. actually being a mother. Setting boundaries is a good thing. Discipline is a good thing.
Consequences are a good thing. Being pretty or famous does NOT equal free pass in this world. Neither does having money, as in Parisite's case.
Hell, my half-retarded Mule has raised better behaved offspring than the Hilton's or Dina Lohan has. Pff.
Jamie is 100% correct. These girls have had no guidance. Family values----that's what we should all be talking about.
Jamie said: "I hope their mothers are worried sick and wondering, 'What could I have done differently?' And our culture should be asking the same question too."
That's a pretty nasty comment coming from Jamie. What good will it do for the mothers to be "worried sick"?
What good will it do now for them to wonder about the past?
How is "our culture" to blame for these 3 bad apples??? Puleeese quit trying to blame society for spoild rich girls- it makes no sence at all!
I'm glad Jamie is not a SHRINK- 'cause she SUCKS at giving advise!
