It's Hot. DAMN Hot.

It's 96 degrees in the shade here in Vancouver today. Since we only see the sun for 5 months of the year, if we're lucky, no one owns an air conditioner. I not only bought a house with no air conditioning, I bought one with skylights in the master bedroom. Huge skylights. 4 of them. Beautiful skylights on a cool day, but today, I LOATHE THEM. What kind of IDIOT puts skylights in a bedroom? Hello? Not only is it too hot, it's too effing bright all the time.

96 in the shade, 150 easy, under these babies. Even the hardwood floor is too hot to walk on. Guess I'm sleeping in the garage tonight.

Yeah, your bedroom might be hot, but how cool does it look with those skylights? It's awesome!

I hear you about the lack of air con. I live in the UK, where we see the sun for about five WEEKS if we're lucky, but this global warming business seems to have hit us hard and two fans just don't cut it anymore. They just move the hot air around. Time to invest in an air conditioning unit, methinks...

Keep cool, my baby (Conan-stylee).

I'm considering getting airconditioning too - at least upstairs. My house is 100 years old so nothing ever works right.

love the 'my baby' conan-styles. my kinda styles Red....... i say that all the time and i have the voice down. haha

Leisa - Your bedroom ceiling looks positively beautiful to me. I, too, am not fan of this heat. I live in So Cal where they say "you don't need air conditioning at the beach." BS, I say, as I swelter a mere two blocks from the Pacific. This weather is inhumane.

Ok my first glance registered as "playing cards", then I read. Then I was oh so covetous of your skylights.

Want insanity? Skylights in a house in AZ where is was 1117 billion degrees today. Yeah.

OMG - I'm dying in the sweltering heat. I'm also in Vancouver - when will this EVER stop??? Bring on the RAIN!! I have a baby and a toddler, and it's been really tough on them.

A toddler AND a baby! You must be dying from more than just HEAT exhaustion. It's tough when it's too hot to even play outside.

Scottsdale Girl - OMG, my heart goes out to you. My parents lived in Las Vegas for 10 years and their house had a skylight, too. WTF? They did have this shade that covered it, though, and it helped in the summer.
