I had been totally getting the "this is my last season vibe", but NO. Chelsea Handler has signed a new two year deal with E! through 2014, continuing with Chelsea Lately. Also included is a production deal with her Borderline Amazing Productions.

"Chelsea is an extraordinary talent whose smart, clever, no-holds-barred point of view has clearly been embraced by viewers," said E! president Suzanne Kolb.

Added Handler, "It's a great time for women in comedy, and it's a great time to have real breasts."

Chelsea Lately has helped launch the career of fellow comedienne, Whitney Cummings.

The news may come as a surprise to those who have paid close attention to Handler's remarks in recent months. In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter's June cover story, Handler said, "I can't keep doing the same thing; my brain is bleeding. I want to do something that's more mindful and isn't celebrity-centered. I'm not looking to totally bail on E! They've done a lot for me, and I like it here. If you take away the Kardashians."

Kevin Bacon: I'm not going to say it didn't have its emotional downsides. But we're both young, and we both had the ability to work and roll up our sleeves and start putting the pieces back together. The truth is that we went through it together.

DETAILS: Did it have any impact on your professional decisions?

From New York Times: Last week, The Gap released a redesigned logo that looked like a design-school dropout's take on the modern credit card. They said it was part of the transition from "classic, American design, to modern, sexy, cool.

And well..... people didn't like it. In fact, thousands flocked to Facebook to scream BLASPHEMY.

So this morning the President of Gap North America issued this statement:

Since we rolled out an updated version of our logo last week on our website, we’ve seen an outpouring of comments from customers and the online community in support of the iconic blue box logo.

Last week, we moved to address the feedback and began exploring how we could tap into all of the passion. Ultimately, we’ve learned just how much energy there is around our brand. All roads were leading us back to the blue box, so we’ve made the decision not to use the new logo on gap.com any further.

At Gap brand, our customers have always come first. We’ve been listening to and watching all of the comments this past week. We heard them say over and over again they are passionate about our blue box logo, and they want it back. So we’ve made the decision to do just that – we will bring it back across all channels.

In the meantime, the website will go back to our iconic blue box logo and, for Holiday, we’ll turn our blue box red for our seasonal campaign.

We’ve learned a lot in this process. And we are clear that we did not go about this in the right way. We recognize that we missed the opportunity to engage with the online community. This wasn’t the right project at the right time for crowd sourcing.

There may be a time to evolve our logo, but if and when that time comes, we’ll handle it in a different way.

Hey Gap, why fix it if it ain't broke? Why spend money changing your brands image, especially now? Change your chinos, not your logo. That's my two cents.

Conan Is NOT Happy and Who Can Blame Him?

With NBC's announcement that they were cancelling Jay Leno's Prime Time slot this week, of course the public who actually has a funny bone was all.... but what about Conan O'Brien?

"This level of sh- - -iness was not expected," one source said.

"He's done a great job for NBC. He moved his entire staff, he moved his family to LA. And five months later, they repay him like this?"

As it stands now, the source said, "Conan would be happier somewhere else."

O'Brien has yet to weigh in on the peacock network's announcement it was canceling Jay Leno's prime-time program and hoping O'Brien would accept being bumped back to follow Leno's return to the 10:35 p.m. time slot.

However, a major NBC player said Sunday, ''If Conan plays ball, swallows his pride -- which certainly is not easy -- and accepts a return to the later slot, he stands to be paid a very hefty bonus in return.''

From the network's standpoint, paying O'Brien several million more dollars annually still would be preferable to being forced to pay the TV personality an estimated $20 million per year for the remaining four years on his contract, and have him do nothing.

Reportedly, even if O'Brien did agree to jump to Fox or ABC -- as have been floated as serious possibilities -- NBC still would have to shell out any differential that might remain between O'Brien's new contract and his old NBC deal.

For example, if Fox or ABC paid him $15 million annually, NBC reportedly would still be obligated to pay him an added $5 million to fulfill the terms of his NBC contract.

A source very close to O'Brien, who requested anonymity Sunday, said, ''Conan is extremely upset about all this, and how the news leaked out and how it has been handled by NBC -- so far. While he understands Jay's show hasn't worked, he thinks he's being made the fall guy,'' even though O'Brien's own ratings performance in the "Tonight Show" time slot has been very disappointing.

Ladies, as you know, I'm a lover of shoes. I'm a lover of designer shoes. But listen.....

I was driving one morning in my pj's to get my drive-thru Starbucks and I hear them talking about shoes. This was early a.m. and the announcer on the AM dial was marveling over her PA's hot pink heels. Said that her story about them was so cool she had to have her on air. As I wait in my Volvo for my Grande non-fat 170 degree latte, I heard all about it.

It's a shoe club ladies. Just like that music club a lot of you got suckered into, back in the 80's and 90's, "Columbia House", it's a monthly subscription. Only this time YOU GET SHOES, and if you don't want some that month, you are totally fine to pass. Just as long as you say so by the 6th of the month. Not like those random cd's, cassette tapes, 8 tracks, that just kept coming and coming. This is no obligation, easy peasy stuff.

You see you fill out a questionaire. They ask you which celebrity style you prefer over the other. Which runway look you covet over the other. That kind of thing. In a couple days, Shoedazzle's fashion stylists send you 5 - 6 picks of shoes that they think you will want to have that month. You choose a style, they ship them to you, all for only $39.95. With a return shipping waybill and everything, just in case they don't work out.

I swear to god this is not a sponsored plug. 2009 Claims Another From Hollywood: RIP Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest early Sunday morning, after her mother had found her unconscious in the shower, according to a report by TMZ. The actress was only 32.

It is reported that a call went out to 911 from Murphy's Los Angeles home at 8 a.m. Attempts to revive her were not successful. A spokesperson for Cedars Sinai Medical Center confirmed to PEOPLE that Murphy died at the facility Sunday at 10:04 a.m.

The actress's rep, Nicole Perna, said in a statement Sunday afternoon, "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."

In addition to The White Hotel and Clueless, the Atlanta-born Murphy costarred in 8 Mile with Eminem, and Girl, Interrupted. Her first Hollywood job, at age 14, was as the star of the series Drexel's Class.

In May of 2007, she married her White Hotel director, Simon Monjack.

In September, CEO Mounir Moufarrige announced that Lohan had been brought on to provide an "electric shock" to the aging fashion house. The move, widely viewed as a publicity stunt, was so controversial that head designer Esteban Cortazar resigned earlier in the summer rather than work with a celebrity adviser.

Cortazar was proved correct in October, when critics in Paris savaged the collection and Lohan's contributions as a laughingstock. In one of the nicer reviews, WWD noted Lohan's nipple-baring outfits, covered with hearts, were "cheesy and dated . . . an embarrassment."

Now, Page Six has learned that Ungaro's chairman, Asim Abdullah, is locked in a fierce battle with Moufarrige over Lohan's future role at the company.

"Asim wants her out now," a fashion insider who has seen e-mails between the two executives tells Page Six. "Department stores in the States have already told him they won't be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it's a serious issue."

The problem, says our source, is that "Mounir wants to keep her on because it was his idea to hire her in the first place. He's trying to save face."

The terms of Lohan's multiyear contract were not disclosed, though it is said to be worth seven figures.

Earlier this month, Ungaro himself, who hasn't had any contact with the house that bears his name since leaving in 2005, said of Lohan's debut collection, "I am furious, but I can't do anything about it," adding that the label "is in the process of losing its soul."

Reached for comment, a rep for Abdullah said of the rift between the execs, "Such an insinuation is totally absurd."

Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, the 57-year-old actor, best known for embodying the oddball man-child with the puppet friends (and also for two tawdry scrapes with the law), is about to don the skinny suit again to perform as Pee-wee for the first time in 19 years. Starting in early January in Los Angeles, Reubens will star in an elaborate live show in which Pee-wee yearns to fly, gets his wish, and then gives it away.

The November issue of DETAILS Magazine hits stands next week and we discover how Paul Reubens will prove to Hollywood that Pee-wee can still pack a house.

Law enforcement tells TMZ Kourtney returned to her Calabasas townhome Saturday night at about 8:30 PM and discovered the break-in.

We're told hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewelry was reportedly taken. The home is in a gated community.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department responded and they are on scene.

We're also told among the items missing -- Kourtney's Cartier watch worth around $30,000, an expensive Rolex owned by her boyfriend, multiple diamonds including diamond hoops. And, worst of all, she's missing some vintage jewelry her dad, Robert Kardashian, left her.

We're told Kourtney had left with her boyfriend at around 7 PM for dinner, returned and discovered the break-in. They found many of the drawers open.

Last night yet another tipsy celebutard got caught behind the wheel. This time it's Stephanie Pratt from The Hills.

"It was your basic DUI. Our traffic officers driving down the street spotted her and pulled her over," Sgt. Sal Ogaz tells PEOPLE. "She was cooperative and there were no issues with her arrest."

Police records show Pratt, 23, was arrested at 3:45 a.m., charged with a misdemeanor, and was transferred to the Van Nuys Jail for booking, where she was released around 10:30 a.m on $5000 bail.

Earlier in the evening, Pratt was at Holly Montag's birthday party at Empire, an L.A. nightclub. At 11 p.m. she Tweeted: "its my sissy @hollymontags bday party! just finished dinner and going to Empire but im pretty tired aka yes i am the party pooper :("

I guess you could say her night started out bad, and ended even worse.

Burt Reynolds is seeking treatment in a rehab center for an alleged addiction to painkillers and alcohol, after an accident at his home in Florida last month sparked fears of his mental state.

According to the National Enquirer (ahem), Burt Reynolds, 73, was admitted to hospital on 21 August (09) after he was found semi-conscious and covered in blood following a fall at his waterfront mansion in Hobe Sound.

"The houseman found Burt lying in a pool of blood. He'd fallen and was badly cut. The houseman drove him to the hospital. But this time, Burt was behaving strangely, and doctors were so concerned about his state of mind that they sent him to the county mental health facility in West Palm Beach."

Reynolds agreed to check straight into rehab after medics refused to discharge him unless he sought professional help for his alleged addictions at the nearby Hanley Center.

"He's been increasingly abusing booze and prescription drugs, mainly painkillers. There have been many times recently when he's been completely out of it, and twice in the last few months he's ended up at the ER (emergency room)....Burt wasn't happy about it, but he checked in, went through detox and then joined a regular 30-day rehab program."

Shame on you American Idol! How could you not bring back the crazy this season?!

Paula Abdul, via Twitter, announced last night that she was not renewing her contract with Idol. Twitter instantly lit up with people vowing to stop watching if they don't bring back everyone's favourite TV drunk. Do they actually think we tune in, week after week, to listen to horrible singers sing horrible songs? NO! We tune it to see what kind of crazy-talk Paula will bring. How can we go on without more moments like these ?

Speculation about Abdul’s future with the show grew rampant after manager David Sonenberg told the Los Angeles Times in July that FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the production companies behind Idol, had not given her a new contract three weeks before the ninth season was to start filming — and just days after Idol host Ryan Seacrest reportedly signed a three-year deal for 45 million.

“She’s worked really hard for them and it’s time for them to reciprocate,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “They need to come through or she’ll walk.”

The warning signs may have been there: Sonenberg spoke out against producers, calling them “rude and disrespectful” to Abdul for not having “stepped up,” but the judge not only felt under appreciated, she also believed she was underpaid.

“When everyone else [was] getting such big raises she was hurt,” a source close to the former Idol judge tells PEOPLE. “She did want to go back to the show, of course. She’s upset they didn’t give her what she deserved.”

According to a source close to the show, “FOX offered Abdul a raise, but it was much less than what she was asking for.” She asked for about $20 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and rejected a 30 percent raise — an eight-figure, multi-year deal.

Abdul’s announcement on her Twitter page — less than a week after FOX announced Kara DioGuardi was returning to the judges' table — blindsided producers and “took everyone by surprise,” adds the show source. But leaving Idol isn’t a complete loss for her professional career — there’s a chance she could move to another network.

“Paula is an exceptional piece of talent,” Paul Telegdy, NBC’s alternative programming executive, told reporters Wednesday at the Television Critics’ Association panel in Pasadena, Calif. “We have no specific plans for her but I read the breaking news [of her departure from Idol] and I wouldn’t rule anything out.”

Between you and I..... I actually think Paula will be back this season. I think this is her trying to get her contract signed. Show the producers that the fans want her and that AI needs her.

Actor Stephen Baldwin, pictured above with his daughter shopping last week in Hollywood, filed for bankruptcy in New York on Tuesday, according to a court document that says he is millions in debt.

The 43-year-old actor filed for Chapter 11 protection claiming he owes more than $2.3 million and owns a New York property valued at only $1.1 million. His wife, Kennya Baldwin, also is named in the document.

Baldwin owes about $1.2 million on two mortgages on the New York property and more than $1 million in taxes. He also has credit card debt, court papers showed.

A lawyer for Baldwin had no comment.

The writers of Entourage went after Seth Rogen on Sunday nights episode, calling his “ugliness…oddly fascinating” in a debate over whether the actor could possibly tap a Katherine Heigl-type in real life.

When asked if he has checked out the episode by E!’s Daily 10, Rogen surprisingly responded:

“Yeah, those guys are assholes. I actually ran into Matt…(Kevin Dillon) in a Starbucks. And he’s like ‘you know, I’ve got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn’t like you so much.’ And I said ‘well I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn’t like me.’ And I’ve kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that…It’s on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage.”

Katherine Heigl may be back to work on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, but according to the actress, it hasn’t been a super-happy homecoming.

“Our first day back was Wednesday and it was — I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them — a 17-hour day,” Heigl told David Letterman during a visit to the Late Show on Monday, “which I think is cruel and mean.”

One reason for her lack of pep: her good pal T.R. Knight’s departure from the show.

“It was actually kind of really great to be back,” she said. “All my friends are there and at this point, they’re sort of like family, but it was a little weird because [T.R.]’s not there anymore.”

As open as she is about her feelings about the show, Heigl remained tight-lipped about the fate of her character, who was last seen in an ambiguous scene after undergoing surgery for a brain tumor. “You last saw Izzie, you know, flatlining,” she told Letterman. “So, I won’t give it away but, you know, I’m there so I’m either there as a ghost, on the other side or I survived a disease no one survives.”

“I’m guessing if you’re working 17 hours, that means you’re not dead,” Letterman observed.

Heigl’s reply: “What if, however, Dave, I was in a bed in a coma for 17 hours, they could do that to me.”

Despite the long days shooting the medical drama, Heigl said she hopes Grey’s Anatomy, which returns to ABC on Sept. 24, will stick around for a while.

“We have another two years, I think, at least in the contract,” she said. “Hopefully the show goes, you know, ER time, which would be cool.”

Ryan Seacrest Lives At The End Of A Rainbow

That little engine that could, Ryan Seacrest, has closed a major three-year deal with CKX, parent of "Idol" producer 19 Entertainment, worth $15 million per year. That's 45 million kids. This sh!tty economy sure ain't affecting him any.

Under the pact, which is believed to be the richest ever for a reality host, Seacrest will be exclusive to CKX in broadcast TV primetime to host "Idol" or any CKX-produced show that might succeed it.

The pact, which had been in the works for the past several weeks, more than triples his previous salary of slightly less than $5 million per season.

"Idol" producers 19, FremantleMedia North America and Fox all declined to comment on Seacrest's new deal, as did his attorneys. The pact is expected to be announced Monday.

Seacrest has a separate cable deal with Comcast and is E! Entertainment's lead anchor. He also produces such shows as E!'s "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and ABC's upcoming Jamie Oliver reality series.

With Seacrest's renegotiation out of the way, the "Idol" producers will focus on securing the show's judges for next season.

Simpson’s rep had no comment. Romo's rep could not be reached for comment.

Simpson had planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party for her birthday, but it fell through, according to a message she wrote on her Twitter page (of-f&cking-course) Saturday. "Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!" she wrote.

On Saturday night, Romo spoke to a group of well-heeled sports memorabilia collectors at the Los Angeles Sports Museum of Los Angeles. He "blushed" when a woman asked about his relationship with Jessica Simpson, according to the L.A. Daily News.

The source close to Simpson is sad that the longtime couple broke up. "They were good together for along time," says the source. "But I guess it wasn't meant to be."

Although Simpson's heart might be broken, she seems to remain hopeful about love. On Sunday, she Tweeted, "Everyone needs to know that hope floats ... grab the strings and pull it back to you." Three hours later, she wrote, "Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please lord give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace."

Oh shut up and be real Jessica. You are once again unlucky in love. Love hurts and so do you. I hear Nick Lachey is single again. You two really should reconsider. Your careers have never been the same since.

Jason Bateman, now 40, has finally hit his stride. The new father of twin girls graces the pages and the cover of the August issue of Details.

The issue hits the stands next week.

On stopping his drug use: “Booze was what would make me want to stay out all night and do some blow or smoke a joint or whatever, so shutting that off was key. It’s like ketchup and French fries – I don’t want one without the other. So that’s the moment: Do you want to continue to be great at being in your twenties, or do you want to step up and graduate into adulthood?”

On his partying ways: “It was like Risky Business for 10 years. My parents were out of town, they left me a bunch of money, the car, and the house, and I didn’t know when they were coming home. I’d worked so hard that by the time I was 20, I wanted to play hard. And I did that really well.”

Jennifer Aniston on Bateman: “Even though he was pretty wild in those days, something about those dimples and that sweet face made you go, ‘Oh, it’s okay that you just drove up the street backwards in a Range Rover with the door wide open.’ I don’t know what was happening there. You feel instantly safe in his company.”
